Blog Journal #3 Copyright is the protection of intellectual property or creative works. Copyright comes into play when someone creates something intellectual or creative and gives the creator exclusive rights to the work. It stops other people from using a creator's work and saying it's theirs. If someone wishes to use the work they must give credit or possibly pay a fee to the creator. This can be written, audio, or audiovisual works. Fair use was a part of the guidelines for copyright established in 1976. Fair use allows the copy of materials for educational purposes within reason. This depends on how the work is used, how much of the work is used, and what impact the usage will have on the work's values. If I were a teacher, I would have to deal with these subjects a lot since I would have to use materials to teach my classes from the internet or textbooks and my students might need to use other materials for research.
