 Blog Journal #3  Copyright is the protection of intellectual property or creative works. Copyright comes into play when someone creates something intellectual or creative and gives the creator exclusive rights to the work. It stops other people from using a creator's work and saying it's theirs. If someone wishes to use the work they must give credit or possibly pay a fee to the creator. This can be written, audio, or audiovisual works. Fair use was a part of the guidelines for copyright established in 1976. Fair use allows the copy of materials for educational purposes within reason. This depends on how the work is used, how much of the work is used, and what impact the usage will have on the work's values. If I were a teacher, I would have to deal with these subjects a lot since I would have to use materials to teach my classes from the internet or textbooks and my students might need to use other materials for research.  Blog Journal #2 Throughout my education in K-12 and even until now as a sophomore in college, I have had a lot of experience with Microsoft Word. Over the years I have used Microsoft Word to submit essays or research papers, so I have had experience with manipulating the documents and using different fonts and font sizes to complete my assignments. In college, I have also taken an intro computer course where some of my assignments were done with Microsoft Word. Even though, I am very comfortable using Word I do prefer using Google Docs. I prefer this word processing software because to me personally it is easier for me to find the previous document that I may have been working on and the document automatically saves when you are working on it. This makes me confident that my work will be saved in case I forget to save the document.  Blog Journal # 1- Intro     My name is Zoie and I am a sophomore at Florida State University. I grew up in Orlando, FL, and chose to go to FSU because I loved the atmosphere and campus. I am majoring in Communications Sciences and Disorders and hope to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. I am also minoring in education and child development. I am looking forward to this course to learn how educational technology applies to my future profession.      Besides using technology throughout the years in my education and taking intro computer classes, I don't know much about using technology in an educational setting. Some skills I already have are Microsoft programs like Word and PowerPoint. In this course, I hope I can further my skills with specific programs like Excel and learn about new programs that can help in education.
