Assignment 5 was very interesting and I learned a lot about how to make interactive and engaging PowerPoints. With this assignment, I learned how to use buttons that allow the viewer to go forward and backward in the presentation. I also learned how to make it so it was like a game and not just switching through the slides in linear order. It was also interesting to use the different sound effects and transitions. This will also be useful for the future so that if I have a lesson I can use an interactive PowerPoint to make it more hands-on. I hope to improve this next time by adding more elements.
In my future field, I think I will mainly use data collection surveys to check in on my students and use them as a tool to build stronger relationships. In the future, I plan to be a speech-language pathologist in a school setting. I can use surveys to check in with my patients or students to see how they are doing in general and what is working and not working for them. This will encourage my students to come to me if they need anything and build up trust between us. I can also use surveys to plan out schedules and things like that.
I found it most interesting reading about how other students plan to have their future classrooms set up. It was cool to look at different classroom websites. It showed their personality and also showed what their future classroom might be like. I also liked that I was able to see how they used technology to create their blogs and how creative they were with the graphics and layouts.
While I haven't submitted this challenge for a badge yet, I created a Pinterest vision board. This was really fun to do because this is something I am already familiar with and I love making Pinterest boards. The board I decided to share was my "Living Room" board. These are ideas for how I want to decorate my apartment living room.
One of the technology-related skills I would like to learn next is how to create more organization with the use of my computer. For example, keeping files organized and using a calendar to mark down events and share events with others. This is something I am familiar with but also need more practice in. My files are somewhat organized, but I would like to learn more ways to keep things concise and streamlined.
