Teacher pages on a school website are great ways for teachers to get information out to students and parents about what is going on in the classroom and how they can get extra support and practice outside of the classroom. During Covid-19 teacher websites have been especially helpful because while students are learning remotely, they may lose some important information. Teacher pages can help provide that extra information and fill the gaps on what some students may be missing. One teacher page I found was from Dale Public Schools and the teacher was Cindy Hill. She is a high school science teacher and on her site, she has links to various grade levels with information for each. There is a daily schedule, lesson plans, and links to educational websites. This will be helpful to her students because they can access this information whenever they need to catch up or to just practice the topics more. This can also allow parents to be up to date with information.
I envision myself using technology to accomplish my own professional responsibilities to keep myself organized. For example, I can use tools like google calendar and the reminder app on my phone. These can help me keep due dates organized or important meetings so that I can always be on top of what is going on. Once I do start in the speech pathology field I can use different tools to communicate with my clients like email or google forms/google calendar. Again all of these can help me get feedback and also help me to keep appointments and things organized.
I had a good experience using PB works. I thought it was helpful that my group and I could all work on the project at the same time on each of our individual forms and I liked that it was easy to link other parts of the wiki on each page. This website allowed easy collaboration. One thing that I didn't like was that only one person could edit a specific page at a time, so if we all wanted to work on one thing together we couldn't or had to wait until the other person was done. If I became a teacher in the future, I could use this website to have group projects with the students, or I could use it with them and we could all create a class wiki. Each student could have an individual page and all the information could be kept together.
